In Polens Schlesiermetropole leben 630.000 Menschen, die Arbeitslosigkeit ist niedrig, denn Breslau boomt: 25.000 Studenten machen jedes Jahr einen Hochschulabschluss in Breslau, viele in Ingenieur-Studiengängen - und das nur 170 Kilometer von der deutschen Grenze entfernt.

Deutsche Firma im polnischen Silicon Valley
Breslau wird das Silicon Valley des Ostens genannt. Hier gibt es Industrieparks, soweit das Auge reicht: Hier wird produziert, aber längst auch entwickelt, gerade wegen der vielen Studenten. Die deutsche Firma Networked Assets entwickelt hier Software-Lösungen. Die Dependence wurde eröffnet, weil hier die Spezialisten sitzen. Wenn der Prophet nicht zum Berg kommt, dann muss sich der Berg bewegen. In einer der vielen Kneipen treffen wir Krzysztof wieder, der so gut deutsch spricht, aber nicht mehr rüber will. In Breslau ist die deutsche Zeit sehr präsent. Das mag manch einen voreilig verleiten zu glauben, die Breslauer würden auf die Deutschen warten. Doch Fehlanzeige: Den Wettbewerb um die klugen Köpfe Europas haben die Deutschen zumindest in Breslau schon lange verloren."

Available through both an OnDemand and on-site offering, JIRA 5 offers a social product development platform that connects people, applications and activity to accelerate the software development process. More than 30 integration partners, including Box, Gliffy, New Relic, Zephyr, Zendesk, Salesforce.com, Tempo and GetSatisfaction are launching JIRA 5 compatible third-party products. More than 100 commercial and free plugins are also available with today’s launch.

Starting on Februar 22, Atlassian is offering a free 30-day trial of JIRA 5. JIRA can be purchased for on-site download for just $10 for 10 users, or OnDemand starting at $10/month for 10 users.

New JIRA Enterprise Offering
To ensure the success of large deployments, Atlassian is introducing a new JIRA Enterprise offering with additional support, training and engagement. Customers with 500 or more JIRA users can now receive 24X7 phone support, end-user training, and administrator certification, among other enhanced services.

5.0 The JIRA team is in the final stages of preparation for they first simultaneous release of JIRA for download and OnDemand.  They're working on the launch of an exciting JIRA release, which includes the rollout of JIRA 5.0 and upgrade of existing OnDemand customers.
